Dendracin Lotion

Dendracin Lotion is used for:

Temporary relief of minor aches and pains caused by arthritis, simple backache, and strains. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

Dendracin Lotion is a topical analgesic. It works by temporarily relieving minor pain.

Do NOT use Dendracin Lotion if:

• you are allergic to any ingredient in Dendracin Lotion, including oil of wintergreen, or to aspirin or other salicylates

Contact your doctor or health care provider right away if any of these apply to you.

Before using Dendracin Lotion:

Some medical conditions may interact with Dendracin Lotion. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you have any medical conditions, especially if any of the following apply to you:

• if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breast-feeding


• if you are taking any prescription or nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplement


• if you have allergies to medicines, foods, or other substances


• if you have had an allergic reaction to sulfonamides (eg, sulfamethoxazole), para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA), or other topical anesthetics


• if you have a wound at the affected area or your skin is blistered, broken, or damaged in any way

Some MEDICINES MAY INTERACT with Dendracin Lotion. Tell your health care provider if you are taking any other medicines, especially any of the following:

• Anticoagulants (eg, warfarin) because the risk of their side effects may be increased by Dendracin Lotion

Ask your health care provider if Dendracin Lotion may interact with other medicines that you take. Check with your health care provider before you start, stop, or change the dose of any medicine.

How to use Dendracin Lotion:

Use Dendracin Lotion as directed by your doctor. Check the label on the medicine for exact dosing instructions.

• Shake well before each use.


• Gently rub a thin layer of medicine over the painful or sore area. Check with your doctor or the package label if you have questions about how to apply Dendracin Lotion.


• Wash your hands immediately after using Dendracin Lotion unless your hands are a part of the treated area.


• You may wash the treated area once the medicine has been absorbed into the skin.


• Do not apply Dendracin Lotion to wounds or damaged skin.


• Do not use Dendracin Lotion right after you shower or take a bath.


• Do not bandage, wrap, or cover the affected area until after the medicine has been absorbed and you have washed the area. Do not bandage tightly.


• Do not use Dendracin Lotion more often than 4 times per day.


• If you miss a dose of Dendracin Lotion, use it as soon as you remember. Continue to use it as directed by your doctor or on the package label.

Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Dendracin Lotion.

Important safety information:

• Dendracin Lotion is for external use only. Do not get it in your eyes, ears, lips, mouth, or genital area. If you get it in any of these areas, rinse right away with cool water.


• Do not use a heating pad after you apply Dendracin Lotion.


• Do not use more than the recommended dose or more often than directed without checking with your doctor.


• Do not use Dendracin Lotion with other topical pain products.


• Do not use Dendracin Lotion over large areas of the body without checking with your doctor.


• Do not allow Dendracin Lotion to come into contact with clothing or any surface other than skin.


• If your symptoms do not get better within 7 days, if they get worse, or if they clear up and then return, check with your doctor.


• Dendracin Lotion may cause harm if it is swallowed. If you may have taken it by mouth, contact your poison control center or emergency room right away.


• Do not use Dendracin Lotion in CHILDREN younger than 12 years old without first checking with the child's doctor; safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.


• PREGNANCY and BREAST-FEEDING: If you become pregnant, contact your doctor. You will need to discuss the benefits and risks of using Dendracin Lotion while you are pregnant. It is not known if Dendracin Lotion is found in breast milk after topical use. If you are or will be breast-feeding while you use Dendracin Lotion, check with your doctor. Discuss any possible risks to your baby.

Possible side effects of Dendracin Lotion:

All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. No COMMON side effects have been reported with Dendracin Lotion. Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); signs of infection (eg, oozing, swollen, or blistered skin); skin redness or irritation.

Proper storage of Dendracin Lotion:

Store Dendracin Lotion below 90 degrees F (32 degrees C). Store away from heat and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Dendracin Lotion out of the reach of children and away from pets.
